2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

Charles Edward Vowell, 75, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family and best friend.

He was a member of Dunbar Community Church, a Veteran of the Vietnam War and was a former employee of United Central Supply for over 35 years.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mary Magdalene Randolph Vowell; and two brothers, James Vowell and Ernest Vowell.

Surviving are his Loving wife of 53 years, Freda Vowell; daughter, Andrea Nicole Vowell De Groft and husband Jason; sister-in-law, Barbara Vowell; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Charles Vowell will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, August 1, 2021 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Tony Nunley officiating and Military Rites will be conducted by the Local VFW and Virginia National Guard. Burial will follow in the Laurel Grove Cemetery in Norton, VA.  The Family will receive friends from 1:30 P.M. till time of services at 3:00 P.M. Sunday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA.
