Charles Edd "Luke" Combs, 72, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 22, 2024.

He loved the Wise Fire Department, Coca-Cola Classic, Superman, Popeye, Jeeps and he was an avid NASCAR fan.

He loved his best buddy, Larry Hunsucker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Giles Jr and Frances Combs; his grandparents, Giles Sr. and Vada Combs; and his aunt, Margaret Combs.

Surviving are his brother, Smokey Combs and wife Sherry; special niece and nephew, Josh and Whitney Marshall; nephew, Jason Combs and wife Laura; great nieces and nephew, Carter Marshall, Addi Marshall, Molly Combs, and Emily Combs; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A special Thank you to his caregivers, Jason, Gail, Gwen, their Staff at Golden Homestead in Coeburn for their excellent care of Luke.

The family would like to thank the residents of Wise for always looking out for and taking care of Luke.

Funeral services for Charles Edd "Luke" Combs will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Monday, August 26, 2024 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Mike Hunsucker officiating. Family will receive friends 5:00 P.M. till time of services at 7:00 P.M. Monday, August 26, 2024 at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA. Graveside committal services and burial will held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 27, 2024 in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap, VA. Family and friends will meet at 10:15 A.M.
