Charles "Doc" Wesley Bevins, 67, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2023, in the Norton Community Hospital Norton, VA. He was born to the late Charles & Edna Bevins in Wise, VA. He was a lifelong resident of Coeburn, VA., where he met and married the love of his life in 1981 and raised their two children together. He made a living working in the coal mines until he retired, and was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and taking care of his chickens.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Edna Bevins; sister, Shirley Bevins Lawson, and brother, Paul Bevins.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Jennifer Taylor Bevins; daughter, Whitney Bevins (Charles) Gambrall, son Wesley (Sarah) Bevins, granddaughters, Taylor and Ariana Bevins; sisters, Mary Bevins Burke and Alice Bevins Funk; brothers, Samuel (Karen) Bevins and James (Sue) Bevins; and several nieces and nephews. He was loved BIG and will be missed dearly. A special thank you to Mountain Region Home Health for there exceptional care during his last year.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 27, 2023, 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the Sturgill Funeral Home 310 6 ^th Street NW Coeburn, VA. Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Marty Puckett officiating. Graveside Service will be conducted 11 A.M. Saturday, January 28, 2023, in the Greenwood Acres Cemetery Coeburn, VA. The family and friends will meet at 10:15 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
