Cathy Ball, age 75, passed away peacefully at her home in Coeburn, VA surrounded by those that loved her fiercely. Cathy was born, raised and lived all of her life in Coeburn, VA.

She was a 1969 graduate of Coeburn High School.

Cathy was a bookkeeper by profession until she retired a few years ago.

Cathy is preceded in death by her parents: Sol and Fannie (James) Miller,  a sister, Deanna (Miller) Stanley, a sister-in-law, Judy (Ball) Call,  her special friend, Carol Jordan and several other family members.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Ball. A brother-Denver Miller (Greta) Coeburn, VA

Two brothers-in- law of Coeburn, Thomas Stanley and Ray Call. One niece, three nephews and numerous other friends and family. A special cousin who was more like a brother-Gary James, Bull Run, VA.

Cathy leaves behind a daughter, Crystal Ball (Kevin) Henson, Norton, VA who inherited much of her determination and strength and a beloved grandson, Caden Mullins, of Norton, VA who held a very special place in her heart.  She took great joy in watching him grow and never missed an opportunity to make him feel loved and supported.

Mom never wanted people sitting around feeling sorry for her, she would much rather be remembered through laughter and "Remember when she......." stories that bring us smiles even through the tears.

Rest easy, Mom.  Your loved shaped who we are, and your memory will guide us in the days ahead.  Though you are no longer by our side, you will always be in our hearts.  Until we meet again, thank you for everything-you were loved beyond measure, and always will be.

The family would like to extend a huge thank you to mom's  dear friend, Trish Mann for all she has done for us lately,  and Amber Kennedy who provided care for mom for a brief time.

Visitation will be on Saturday, June 13, 2026, 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the Sturgill Funeral Home 310 6th Street NW Coeburn. Funeral Services will follow in the chapel with Rev. Darrell Bolling officiating.  Graveside Services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the Greenwood Acres Cemetery Coeburn, Virginia.
