Carolyn "Mamaw" Sue Wells, 75, won the greater victory from her brief illness. She went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.

She is proceeded in death by her husband of 54 years, James "Papaw" Adrian Wells, her parents Stanley "Buster" and Irene Greene Crabtree and a sister, Margaret Crabtree Bentley.

She is survived by her children Michael Wells and wife Connie of Lebanon, VA, Tammy Owens and husband Dwight of Wise, VA, and James "JW" Wells and wife Carrie of Norton, Va. Grandchildren Josh Wells, Kayla Pilkenton and husband Tim, Sydney Wells and boyfriend Ryan Reynolds, Jessica Wells, Nathan Wells, and Rayden Pilkenton. One brother Stanley Crabtree and wife Brenda of Wise, VA, several nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Carolyn Wells will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 8, 2021 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor James Wells, Rev. Aaron Crabtree and Pastor Chris Crabtree officiating. Burial will follow in the Wells Cemetery Esserville, Va.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Saturday, August 7, 2021 at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA.
