Bobby Ray Thompson "Bobby T", 69, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at his residence.

He was of the Christian Faith, a retired Heavy Equipment Operator, and a former football coach at J.J. Kelly, Clintwood, Powell Valley and Norton Schools. He coached in all Little League sports and was presently the Assistant Basketball Coach at John I. Burton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Cindy Thompson; and several siblings.

Surviving are his wife, Regina Thompson; four children, Christie Pauley and husband Jamie, Kiley Farmer, Aaron Thompson and wife Courtney, and Aubrey Thompson; two grandchildren, Tyler Vanover and Emery Thompson; his little buddy, Oreo; one sister; one brother; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Bobby Ray Thompson "Bobby T" will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Rev. Randy Sturgill officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurel Grove Cemetery in Norton, VA. Family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. till time of services at 2:00 P.M.
