Bobby Randall "Randy" Hopkins, 70, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026, in Abingdon, Virginia.

Randy was raised in Wise, Virginia, and was a graduate of J.J. Kelly High School and Clinch Valley College, now known as the University of Virginia's College at Wise. Randy held various jobs over the years, including working in the mines and a career at Mullican Lumber & Manufacturing Company in Norton, Virginia.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Ada Jean Hopkins and Bobby Hopkins; and by his granddaughter, Adalynn Hopkins.

He is survived by his brother, Jamie Hopkins and wife, Stacy, of Wise, Virginia; his three children, son, Jeremiah Hopkins and wife Ann-Delyse of Fairmont, West Virginia; son, Matthew Hopkins of Wise, Virginia; daughter, Andrea Hopkins Wolfe and husband John "JT" of Charlottesville, Virginia; and his grandchildren, Boden Hopkins, Zander Hopkins, and Aaralin Hopkins.

Randy enjoyed the outdoors and the simple pleasures it offered. He loved coaching and cheering on his children at their sporting events. In his later years, Randy faced memory impairment. While his illnesses changed much, they never changed his welcoming and contagious smile. Today, we take comfort in knowing he is renewed, restored, and at peace.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Deer Meadows Rehabilitation and Nursing and the hospice team of Caris Healthcare for their compassionate care and support.

Visitation for Randy Hopkins will be held from 12:30 P.M. till 1:30 P.M. Thursday, February 19, 2026 at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA. Graveside services and burial will follow in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens Big Stone Gap, VA with Pastor Nick Brewer officiating.
