Bob Begley, 66, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 in Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY, surrounded by his loving family.

He was a loving husband, dad, papaw, great papaw, brother and friend who never met a stranger. He was of Christian faith, a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, former machinist for Barnette Contractors, a former member of the Wise Rescue Squad, Wise Fire Department and enjoyed "riding around listening to the radio".

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold Lee and Dorothy Brickey Begley; brothers, Donnie Begley and Terry Begley and a special nephew Jason Begley.

Surviving are his loving wife for over 36 years, Diane Begley; children, Cristy McNutt and husband Rowdy, Matt Laney and wife Beth and Kevin Begley and fiancé' Brandy; grandchildren, Laura Hall and husband David, Jase Laney and Blake Laney; great-grandchildren, Ezra Hall, Amelia Hall and Noah Hall; sisters; Susie Mays and Danny Peters and Pam Jones and husband Jeff; special nephew, Justin Salyer and Hannah; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Bob Begley will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, December 5, 2021 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Steve Powers and Rowdy McNutt officiating.  Burial will follow in the Wise Cemetery with Military Rites. The family will receive friends 11:30 A.M. till time of services at 1:00 P.M. at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA.
