Blanche Virginia Edwards Bright, 97, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at her home. She was a member of the Rural Missionary Baptist Church Banner and worked for several local businesses.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude H. (Pistol) Bright; her parents, James Harlan (Hoover) and Eliza L. Porter Edwards; sisters, Margaret Edwards Couch, Kathleen Edwards Couch, Connie Edwards Counts; brother, James Frank Edwards.

Surviving is her son, Joe Bright; grandson, Joseph Scott (McKenzie) Bright II; great granddaughter, Wren Bright; a sister, Esther Edwards Gibson; several nieces and nephews. Special Thank you to Barry and Debbie Gibson.

The family will receive friends Saturday, December 27, 2025, 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. at the Sturgill Funeral Home 310 6th Street NW Coeburn, VA. Funeral Services will follow in the chapel with Pastor Willie Ratliff officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Acres Cemetery Coeburn, VA.
