Billy Don Rice, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Billy attended Wise First Church of God.  He was a member of the Masons for 62 years and attended the Hoge Masonic Lodge #8 in Wise, VA. Billy enjoyed playing golf, fishing and bowling.
He was proud to have served as Deputy Sheriff of the Carroll County Sheriff 's Department In Carrolton, MO.
Billy was preceded in death by his mother, Faye Marie Rice Tingley of Whittier, CA and his father, Robert Leon Rice of Alanreed, TX, and one sister, Myrtis Rice Martinez.
Surviving are his loving wife, Charlotte, of 64 years, one daughter, Patricia Rice, of Wise, 2 sons, Wesley (Diane) Rice of Warrenton, VA, and Kelly (Anne) Rice of Sweetwater, TN, and 4 foster daughters, 4 grandchildren, 10 foster grandchildren,  4 great grandchildren, and numerous foster great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Billy Don Rice will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Monday, August 2, 2021 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Gary Maggard and Pastor Dean Herman officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 P.M. till time of services at 3:00 P.M. Monday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA.
