Billie Marie Laney Jordan, 94, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2026 at her home.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

Billie was a member of Mt. View Freewill Baptist Church in Wise and attended faithfully until health issues kept her at home the past year.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Lula Reed Laney; her husband, Darwin Jordan; two sisters, Ruth Forstner and Erma Thacker; three brothers, Dennis Laney, Alfred Laney and Rev. Bobby Laney; daughter-in-law, Connie Miller Jordan; and great-grandson, Elias Jordan.

Surviving are her sons, Rev. Mike Jordan (Karen) of Wise, and Jerry Jordan of Kingsport, TN; daughter, Karen Shell (Cliff) of Wise; grandchildren, Lori Lawson, Kelly Roberts, Kristy Robertson, Victoria Weaver, Jeff Jordan, Seth Jordan, David Shell, Amy Stanley and Ashley Smith; fifteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Shirley Laney; and a host of friends and family.

The family would like to express their thanks to caregivers, Tanya Peak, Amanda Reynolds and Cathy Brickey.

Funeral services for Billie Marie Laney Jordan will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, April 26, 2026 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Dale Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Mtn View Church Cemetery in Wise, VA. Family will receive friends from 1:30 P.M. till time of services at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, April 26, 2026 at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA.
