Billie Cress, 79, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.

She was a born-again Christian who shared the love of God with everyone she came into contact with. She hardly met a stranger, and if she did, they parted ways making a new friend. She faithfully served at Wise County Christian School over 20 years.

Billie loved her family and friends dearly.

Surviving is her husband of 28 years, Banner Cress, they enjoyed many loving years together enjoy life; one son, Kirt William Dale; two grandchildren, McKinley Dale and Isaac Dale; two sisters, Lena Dean of Norton, VA and Wilma Marshall and husband Michael of Norton; one brother, Glen Gardner and wife Renita Gardner; a host of nephews, nieces, relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services for Billie Cress will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 2, 2024 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Robin Sturgill officiating. Burial will follow in the Wise Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. till time of services at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 2, 2024 at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA.
