Betty "Jean" Foster, 93, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 8, 2024 at the home of her daughter.

She was of the Christian Faith, a former employee of Orbit in Norton, VA, a member of the Red Hatters and the women of the Moose Lodge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel "Bill" Glenn Foster Jr; her parents, Ovie McKinley and Lena Mae Aker Rucker; a brother and several sisters.

Surviving are her daughter, Pat Cooper and husband Tim of Big Stone Gap, Va; her fur baby, Ricky; two grandsons, Tim S. Cooper and wife Krista of Big Stone Gap, VA and Phillip "Pepi" Cooper of Big Stone Gap, VA; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Jean Foster will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, January 11, 2024 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Rev. Timothy Cooper and Rev. Bud Kilbourne officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 P.M. till time of services at 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 12, 2024 at the Greenwood Acres Cemetery in Coeburn, VA. Family and friends will meet at 1:15 P.M. Friday at the funeral home to go to the cemetery in procession.
