Barbara Victoria Barnette, 83, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, June 29, 2025.

Barbara was of the Pentecostal Faith and attended Guest River Pentecostal Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Milton Sloce and Ollie Brock Sloce; and her brothers, Wayne Sloce, Gerald Sloce (Claudette) and Mark Sloce (Marie).

Surviving are her sons, Michael Wayne Barnette and wife Susan, Brian David Barnette and wife Sherry, and Johnny Dwight Barnette and wife Lisa; daughters, Tammy Barnette Meade and husband Tony and Patty Denise Fogarty; the father of her children, George Wayland Barnette; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Ray Sloce and wife Kathy, J.M. Sloce and wife Donna, and Freddie Sloce and wife Marlene; and her sister, Judy Addington and husband Clyde; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for Barbara Barnette will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, July 3, 2025 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Darrell Bolling officiating. Graveside committal services and burial will follow in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap, VA. Family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. till time of services at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, July 3, 2025 at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA.
