Banis "Bannie" Gardner, 72, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at her residence.
She was of the Christian Faith and was an employee of Norton Community Hospital for over 56 years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and was a Florida Gator and Dallas Cowboy fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Creed and Leafa Gardner; and siblings, Jane Gardner, Bobby Gardner, Troy Gardner and William Gardner.
Surviving are her siblings, Leana Dean of Norton, Billie Cress and husband Banner of Wise, Wilma Marshall and husband Michael of Norton, and Glen Gardner and wife Renita of Norton; best friend and companion, Cecil Hill of Abingdon, VA; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Bannie Gardner will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, August 20, 2023 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Darrell Bolling and John Bolling officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardner Family Cemetery in Norton, VA. Family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. till time of services at 3:00 P.M. Sunday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA.
