Arthur E. Kilgore, Sr, 90, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at his residence. Arthur devoted his life to God, Church and Family.

He was a member and overseer of the Christian Faith Church in Norton, VA for over 18 years, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and was a retired carpenter.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cynthia Lavaughn; his parents, John Augustus and Maudie Ethel Day Kilgore; and a brother, Glenn Kilgore.

Surviving are his loving wife of 63 years, Shirley Kilgore; children, Arthur Jr. and Debbie, Randall and Katie, Glenn and Sherri, Waneta and Robby and Arthur and Marsella; four grandchildren, Travis and Brittany Kilgore, Randi and JJ Jackson, Justin and Tishia Bentley and Makenzie and Ben Rutherford; five great-grandchildren, Slate Jackson, Lily Bentley, Hailey Kilgore, Parker (Little Arthur) Bentley and Holden Bentley; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Arthur Kilgore Sr. will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 15, 2021 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Rev. Randy Carter and Pastor Glenn Kilgore officiating. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Cemetery Norton, VA. The Family will receive friends from 12 noon till time of services at 2:00 P.M.
