Anthony Wayne Dale, 55, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 7, 2026 at home after a long cancer battle.

He was a member of the Hurricane Baptist Church.

Anthony never met a stranger and enjoyed talking to others. He loved farming, fishing, and being outdoors. He always enjoyed being one of his nieces' biggest fan while watching her play volleyball.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Dale; Paternal Grandparents, Charles & Annis Dale; and Maternal Grandparents, Henry & Ersie Tafoya.

Surviving are his mother, Linda Dale; one sister, Angela Dale Davis and husband Ford; two nephews, Andrew Davis (Trinity) and Gabriel Davis (Emme); a niece, Allison Davis (fiancé Ben Shrewsbury); a great niece, Andi Davis; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the staff and care team at Duke University Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center, Ballad Health Cancer Center in Bristol, VA, and Hospice and Palliative Care of Norton, Va for their wonderful care and kindness.

Funeral services for Anthony Dale will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 10, 2026 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Larry Turner and Pastor Jerry Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in the Wise Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. till time of services at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 10, 2026 at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA.
