Alvin Donald Stanley, 65, entered into eternity on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at his residence after a long fought illness.

Alvin worked in the coal industry and various other jobs in Wise his whole life.  He was always willing to help anyone in need. He loved the mountains he grew up in and anything to do with the history of the land that he loved.  His biggest accomplishment was his family and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Beatrice Stanley; brother, Terry Stanley and sister, Gail Mullins.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Reba Mobley Stanley; daughter Diane and Steve Bowen; son, Douglas and April Pettit; son, Charles and Jamie Stanley; daughter, Laura and Willie Sturgill; daughter, Rebecca Stanley; son, Cody Stanley; 15 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Powers; sister, Janie and Duke Riner; sister, Rebecca and Joey Hall; brother, Jeff and Linda Stanley; brother-in-law, Dean Mullins; special friend and caregiver, Ruby Jones and a host of other family and friends.

A graveside service will be held later this month.
