NORTON, VA.                             FEBRUARY 28, 2026

Alissa Brummitte, age 69 of Norton, Va went home to be with her family on Thursday, February 26, 2026. She was reunited with her children, Amanda Gilliam Hill, Adam James Brummitte, and David William Brummitte, their father Larry Brummitte, her parents James Adams and Wilma Morris, brother Jim Adams II and nephew Justin Porter. What a glad reunion day!

Alissa is survived by her sister Gina and brother-in-law Randy Porter, and sister-in-law Stephanie Adams. Alissa is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Dakota and Ashley Brummitte, William and James Brummitte, and Tyler Gilliam as well as nephews Ryan Porter, Tra Adams, niece Jazlyn Rowe, and several great grandchildren, great niece and nephews.

Alissa was devoted to her family with three generations, often living together under her roof. She loved family gatherings, cooking, sewing, crocheting, reading, and decorating for Halloween! (as well as other holidays). As a true homebody she excelled at creating an inviting atmosphere for family, friends, and every critter imaginable.

Alissa will be remembered for her caring heart, her strength, and the deep love she had for her children and grandchildren. Her presence will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM on Tuesday March 3, 2026 at Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise. The funeral service will follow in the chapel with Jacob Messer officiating. Burial will follow in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens Big Stone Gap, VA.
