Abel R. Wright, 87, passed away Friday, March 28, 2025 at the Ridgecrest Manor in Duffield, VA.

He was of the Christian Faith, a former employee of Walmart, loved watching Western Movies and enjoyed helping people.

Abel was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Jean Wright; a daughter, Tammy Lynn Wright; parents, William and Callie Wright; and siblings, Ava Lou, Keller and Brenda Faye.

Surviving are a son, Ewing Barton Wright and wife Barbe; a daughter, Lareina Jessee; granddaughter, Kate Ochess; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside committal services and burial for Abel Wright will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at the Laurel Grove Cemetery in Norton, VA. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery for services. Please visit www.sturgillfuneral.com to leave online condolences for the family.
